On the Cover

A statue of Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island, overlooks Providence, where the NACCC meets for its 50th Annual Meeting on June 26. Williams’ uncompromising support for separation of church and state led to his banishment from the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636, when he fled to what became Rhode Island.
